Gary Lucy Is Still Writing
His Own Third Act
Three decades after Hollyoaks made him a household name, the actor talks soap villains, stage fright, and why The Good Ship Murder feels like a second wind.
Gary Lucy is a British actor with nearly three decades of screen and stage credits, known for major returning roles in Hollyoaks, Footballers’ Wives, The Bill and EastEnders, and now appearing in Channel 5’s The Good Ship Murder and Channel 4’s The Chelsea Detective.
Lucy began his career as a child actor in Grange Hill and Dream Team before landing the role that made his name: Luke Morgan in Channel 4's Hollyoaks, a performance that won him Best Newcomer at the 2000 British Soap Awards. He went on to lead roles in Footballers' Wives, The Bill and EastEnders, building one of the most recognisable careers in British popular drama.

Lucy made his stage debut leading the UK touring production of The Full Monty as Gaz, and most recently returned to primetime crime drama as Jason Agnew in Channel 5's The Good Ship Murder.
